Visiting a Healer in Bali
For a long time, I longed to visit a traditional healer or shaman, and Bali gave me the perfect opportunity to do so. The visit of the healer and masseur Ketuta was a real and almost transformational experience for me. At first I had no idea what I was getting into, but perhaps it was just what was needed.

Bali spirit atmosphere
The masseuse was located in a typical balline house near Ubud, where the whole Ketut family lived, including aunts, uncles and grandmothers. These houses are like temples, each of them has ceremonial altars, statues and often family temple. The garden was full of flowers, herbs and animals, and on each corner smoldered spiritual fragrant sticks, creating an intense atmosphere. Suddenly, I felt like I was part of their Balinese culture and community.
Energy Treatment in Bali
Ketut explained to me that he worships both good and bad energy, because everything must be in balance. Sitting began with a blessing and prayer in which he used sacred water and sang mantras in a language I did not understand.
Massage to remove the blockade
The massage was intense. It started with deep tissue technique (deep tipsue), which was painful but relaxing. Then Ketut used wooden instruments for reflexology, which led me to my pain limits. At that moment I was screaming rather. Despite discomfort I felt it was necessary for my recovery.

Experience with prana healing and holistic healing
It was indescribable as if I was floating through the universe and was getting rid of emotional weight. This process led to deep forgiveness for myself and others. I forgave not only others, but also myself for previous struggles and lack of self-love.
How much does a massage cost for a Balinese healer?
Ketut’s approach to healing is based on compassion and community connection. Its services are intended not only for tourists but mainly for local residents. Prices for his services are based on voluntary contributions, which means that everyone can contribute according to their options. If someone does not have money, he can offer material gifts. I informed myself about the fair amount, and I learned that it is 400,000 IDRs of Indonesian rupees (approximately CZK 600), but the emphasis is on what everyone has to offer.
Feelings after massage © Forgiveness and Self Love
My experience with this massage has fundamentally changed me. I realized that the greatest pain I’ve caused myself… is thinking about the past and the future, the constant solution and comparison of who I am and what I should be. After this experience, I am able to experience more the present and the connection with nature and the universe. I thank Ketut for allowing me to look into the traditional Balinese treatment and to understand the importance of acceptance and love for myself.
Where to find such a healer?
